We fell in love with Door County--rolling farm terrain with lake Michigan on one side, busy harbors on the other, charming architecture everywhere--what's not to love? I was lucky to be one of the 36 national artists invited to paint plein air for a week in Door County in July. We painted furiously to show our best work at a Gala Preview on Friday, then Saturday morning a bell sounded in Fish Creek and we had 2 hours to paint for the live auction. We raised lots of money for the Peninsula Art School and we had the wonderful experience of sharing our knowledge with patrons and each other.

Door County, Wisconsin Plein Air Oil--sort of* 18.00 x 14.00 SOLD--Prints & Cards Available *I was so excited by this pond-full of cows and quickly painted the fields in the distance, the corn and sugar shack, everything. Just as I was getting to the tough stuff--the cows--the farmer rode up on his mini tractor and yelled to them, "are ya comin?", and they all slowly stood up and trudged to the barn for milking.
